Part3&4

Comment 1 I think computer programming is a language, and it help people to communicate with machines and programs. Moreover, in 21st century, I think computer language become more and more valuable than a natural language. I don’t really understand why you said “ I fervently believe that foreign language learning is essential for children’s development into informed and productive citizens of the world.” You know, if I want to travel in the future, I probably want to learn the language. But I’m not a traveler. Beside, we have many high tech device such as phone and translator, they both can help you in the travel. And I also believe that computer language can communicate with people all over the world in the future. As I know, many country in the Europe have already consider English as their second language, which means nearly all the European can speak and understand English. As the result, to learn a foreign language is less important than learn a computer language. Comment...

effective and ineffective comments

Moves 1.  We all knew of the SAT, for instance, but had no concrete idea of how to prepare for it.  This is the result of no single staff member dedicated to helping students apply to college. However, the writer write about this move before blame no staff member. It is because to show a strict result first can give some thinking, more importantly, it explain how small things cause a big problem step by step. 2.  We were also on our own As a student, we can not do too many things by ourselves. The words “ also ”  shows as a poor student they need to do somethings that they shouldn ’ t do. 3.  I almost missed out on qualifying for aid because I couldn ’ t get the forms I needed from my mother, who was still  my legal guardian. This moves shows the writer still not give up. The word “ still ”  shows the realistic is cruel. 4.  I was not alone This moves shows it ’ s not a rare phenomenon. And it shows the how big group of st...

Research Question(s): A Right to be Forgotten in America.  Can American have the right to be forgotten? What’s the forgotten policy? Conceptual Definitions/Descriptions: privacy policy, Right to be Forgotten, public debate or discourse, digital erasure Methods and Instruments: National, gender, age, partisanship,Demographics, Internet Use and Opinions, Government Attitudes. Key Findings/Results:   Overall, support for the proposed law is strong—67.1 percent support or strongly support it, whereas only 13 percent oppose or strongly oppose it. Moreover, women are more supportive of the law offering a right to be forgotten than are men. Argument: Rather than a left–right divide, it seems to draw on broader opinions about the role of government and corporations, as well as concerns about privacy online.

WP1 draft

My WP1 draft  +"Moves". The "Rhetoric situation" table.

PB1B

PB1B         A public argument that I’d like to make for WP1 is “College should offer for-credit physical education classes”. I found three examples which are all agree with this arguments. They shows the same opinion that College should offer for-credit physical education classes by using totally different demonstration, way of thinking.         There are many “moves” in the three examples. Firstly, they use their own experience as an example to appeal audience to support his ideas. Secondly, they show arguments step by step, logically. Thirdly, they mention a against argument first, then explain why this against argument are totally wrong. All of these three “moves” can adopt in my WP1.          In the three examples, I think Sally Engelhart wrote the best LTE (the second link in PB1A). She uses many data and specific history about the topic to illustrate the importance of credit physical education classes. Sh...

Self-introduction Max

I am a dynamic boy with a wide range of interests since childhood: drawing, playing the piano, skating, singing, table tennis, calligraphy and travelling.     Take my experience with table tennis as an example. My story with table tennis began since Grade six, I remember it was a summer day when I stayed in my mother’s office waiting for her and suddenly a pair of table tennis bats just drew my attention. At that moment, an idea just popped in my mind that I should really try activities like playing table tennis there. So I searched the whole office area and found an abandoned table ideal for playing table tennis on and a spacious room which could be used as an activity room. Later, I placed a large piece of cardboard in the middle and supported it with two books, which brought my handmade table tennis table into being.     What the sports meant to me was more than a pastime. During playing with my mother’s colleagues, I found many of them tale...
